What you'll see
  • Air vortex cannon.A rolling ring of air crosses the stage and knocks over a target; theatrical fog then makes the vortex visible in flight.
  • Van de Graaff generator.Static charge builds until a pre-screened volunteer's hair stands on end - attraction and repulsion the back row can see.
  • Dry ice chamber.Dense fog spills from a clear chamber and then fills a bubble: solid carbon dioxide turning straight into gas.
  • Giant pressure chamber. An oversized object swells inside a clear vacuum chamber as the air is pumped out, then settles back as pressure returns.
  • Color-reaction chemistry.Vivid liquids in large clear vessels change color when they meet; a volunteer predicts the result first.
  • Elephant Toothpaste finale.A secured reaction chamber sends up a towering column of foam while the whole room counts down and calls the height.

Lab questions

Is it safe for little kids?
Yes. Dry ice and chemicals stay with our presenters. Kids watch the big reactions from a safe spot, and at birthday parties they do their own hands-on experiments with kid-safe materials.
Will it make a mess?
No. Drop cloths go down before anything starts, and we pack everything out when we're done.
Indoors or outdoors?
Either. A living room, backyard, library program room or community hall all work. We need power and room to set up.
Which one should I pick?
The Mini Scientist Party for a birthday of up to 20 kids, the Wonder Lab Show for libraries, daycares, camps and churches up to 100, and the Family Science Festival for family nights and community events of any size.
Do you do schools?
School shows are booked through our sister brand, Big Idea Assemblies.
